The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County

The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County, a comprehensive collaborative approach to providing support to the child victim, was initiated in 1993. A more human and sensitive approach to managing child abuse cases, the project acquired a child-friendly, home-like setting for provision of services on October 1, 1996.

This non-residential facility provides services to the child victim and their non-offending family members. The child and their non-offending family members can receive crisis counseling on site while the Center acts as the family's conduit to other services in the community and information about the case. The goal is for the case to reach an optimal conclusion for the child and family.

    Services Offered:

Child Abuse - Report it .. It's the Law

Monday - Friday, nights, weekends, and holidays - 1-800-252-5400

The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County is conducting a capital campaign to build a new Center. The space we currently lease is too small to adequately meet our needs and best serve the children and families of Galveston County. Our new facility will have space to house members of our partner agencies, including CPS, medical personnel and law enforcement. This will enable us to better serve the children and streamline the confusing process that the family must endure at such an emotionally difficult time in their life.

The Advocacy Center has purchased property and finalized plans for our new building. We are currently raising the money and hope to break ground soon.

Donations can be sent to the Advocacy Center at 5710 Avenue S 1/2, Galveston 77550. If you have any questions, please call 409-741-6000.
