APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR COURT

Please dress appropriately for Court. No tank tops, shorts, thongs, hats, or sunglasses may be worn in Court.

LENGTH OF JURY SERVICE

As a potential juror, you will call in each night to verify if your services are needed for the following day. You will be on call beginning Monday and ending Friday. You may, however, be assigned to a case that extends your service time.  You must be available for the entire length of your service.  We understand the inconvenience, but assure you that your service is vital and appreciated.

SECURITY

You will have to go through Security before going to another floor in the Justice Center. You may not enter the facility with any of the following items, anything that could be considered as a “Weapon”; Mace; Pepper Spray; or Pocketknife. All purses and similar items will be screened for security purposes.

PAGERS AND CELL PHONES

Pagers and Cell Phones are not allowed in the Courtrooms.  If you have one with you today, please put your pager on “vibrate” and turn off your Cell Phone.

WORK EXCUSES

You will be given a work excuse for time you spend serving on Jury Duty. If you are not sent to a Court, we will write a work excuse for you when you leave the Jury Assembly Room. If you are sent to a courtroom, the Clerk of that Court will provide the work excuse for you. More and more employers are requiring a work excuse, so it is in your best interest to get one before you leave.

The Work Excuse will reflect only the time you actually spend in jury service.
