Biography

Ken Clark and his wife, Sherry, live with their six children in League City. He currently owns and operates a desktop publishing and printing company. Ken is a deacon of Southshore Church in Kemah.

A strong conservative, Ken has worked for the last decade to build the Galveston County Republican Party. Because of his dedication and commitment Ken received the Galveston County Republican Party’s Volunteer of the Year award. In 1996 fellow Republicans from three counties elected Ken to the State Republican Executive Committee. Since 1988 the local Republican Party has seen tremendous growth. Ken’s efforts have gained the attention and respect of community leaders, both inside and outside Galveston County.

Ken has a proven record of accomplishment. He served on Galveston M.U.D. Board No. 6 from 1990 through 1994 and as President from 1992-1994. During his tenure on the Board, he achieved a 34% reduction in his district’s tax rate.

From his experience as Community Liaison in Congressman’s Steve Stockman office, Ken has gained knowledge into the workings of local, county, state, and federal government. He has worked extensively with a variety of community groups and organizations such as local Rotary Clubs, area Chambers of Commerce, the Clear Lake Area Economic Development Foundation, Policemen’s Association, Save our Shores and many others.

Ken is currently serving on the Houston Galveston Area Council, the Galveston Mayor and Councilman’s Association, the State Republican Executive Committee, League City Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 1, 2 and 3, Board of the Mainland United Way and the Purchasing Agent Board for Galveston County.

He is a true conservative who is fighting for lower taxes, smaller government, and increased protection for our families.
